A Tribute to Rosie posted by Judy on 01/14/04

The touching story of how Ruth met her beloved pony Rosie, and the very sad loss of Rosie in November of last year.

Ruth has been invaluable to Horsetrace and now manages the board. She is always on hand with her sense of humour and optimism. When we learned of Ruths loss, everyone felt such shock and sympathy for her.

The words are by Ruth and is a very poignant story about Ruths devotion to Rosie and the wonderful story of some of their shared times

Talking Telephone Numbers posted by Judy on 01/14/04

We have recently dropped the contact telephone number 0845 etc. This is because the number was so similar to a mobile phone supplier that we had numerous calls, daily asking if we could change the callers tarriff

We can still be contacted by e-mail and we endeavour to reply straight away.

Happy New Year

Would you buy a horse from this person?? posted by Judy on 01/10/03

The following are a selection of "typos" taken from local newspapers advertising horses for sale.

14.2 Black and White Cod for sale
Sounds fishy

Welsh Schoolmistress - Absolutely bun-proof
Well...he does make exceedingly good horses

Broodmare for sale - lovely chestunut tb type with filly fowl at foot
Would not want to ruffle her feathers

15.1 Gelding - Done all pc activities, good to box, catch and shoot
Must be one of those sports horses

Companion horse - cannot be ridden but needs no further meditation
That'll be one of those New Age Horses

If you have come across any adverts like these - send them in to us

FLYING CHANGES posted by Judy on 11/13/02

Flying Changes

Read Liz's amazing story of how she transported her 30 year old mare all the way to Arkansas in the United States.

Against vets advice and concerns about Bess being the ripe age that she was, Liz found herself torn between leaving her beloved Bess or taking the risk of flying her to her new home in the states or leaving her behind.

Read on for the full and amazing story of how Bess flew Fedex across the Atlantic to probably be one of the oldest horses to fly!!!

You can also visit Bess in the Horsetrace Gallery.

You can post your comments here or go to the Forum and add your comments too. http://www.horsetrace.com/db/forums/forumdisplay.php?fid=7/a>

Horsetrace and EMW posted by Judy on 11/05/02

Horsetrace have their first consignment of second hand tack going off the Equine Market Watch this week.

We left an empty box at one of our local livery yards and people have been filling it generously!!

Horsetrace would particularly like to thank Sue, Katie and Jan for their generous donations.

Any tack that can not be used by EMW is sold off to raise vital funds. They have also recently learned that their local auctioneers are to waive their commission fees for goods sold

MORE THEFT posted by Judy on 10/30/02

News has just come in of a pony trap that has been stolen during daylight hours:

Description of the trap is that it is a Bellcrown model and fits a 14 hand pony, it is green with black shafts and black steps with an extra wedge seat. It has a wicker picnic basket and an orange slow sign on the back. Also taken at the same time was a green tarpaulin with 2 eye holes. Additionally the trap had an extra bar with an adjustable purpose built swingle tree.

Many thanks to the NFED for passing on this news: If you have any info, please get in touch.

Looking for Transport posted by Judy on 10/18/02

On 12th November there is another auction at Brecon. .... Of course EMW will be there but their transport is limited as they only have a small trailer.

But would appreciate and desperately need someone with a lorry who can transport back to Talgarth and Bromyard after the sale ends. So if you are in the area, have a lorry and can lend a hand - please get in touch with the EMW. Contact details are on our recommended links page

A note from EMW

We are more than grateful for all support we receive and encourage as many people - and especially the younger generation - to become involved in Equine Welfare.
