Welcome to the HorseTrace Stolen Horse Database!
Adding a horse to HorseTrace is simple and these guidelines will show
you how to successfully add your listing plus upload your photo of your
horse.
- At the top of the page click "Create
a New User Account"
- Then complete the form to add your contact details.
- Once you have added your contact details you shall then be prompted
to subscribe for 1 year before adding your listing. Or you may add your
listing and then subscribe by clicking
here.
- To add a listing click the "User Log-In"
at the top of the page or click
here to log in.
- When logged in you shall be presented with these following options
"Add a Listing | Edit My Account | Edit
My Listings" To add a listing simply click the
"Add a Listing" link.
- The listing forms marked with a red *
are required to be completed. Below are the fields definitions:
Title:
This is the subject of your listing. Let's say Josie wishes to find out
further information on her horses past life, then Josie may put something
like "Desperately seeking info on my horse 'Jasper' "
Notes:
This field is optional and does not have to be filled out, however you
can store notes that might be relevant to your listing i.e.. Contact numbers
or names etc. Also this cannot be seen by the public.
Gender:
The horses gender i.e.. Mare, gelding etc.
Name:
Your Horses Name
Alternative Name:
Only complete this if your horse had another name before you took ownership
of this horse.
Freezemark:
If your horse has a freezemark then please add it here. Please add a
* if your horse's freezemark has a diamond shape within.
Breed:
Select your horses breed from a drop down list.
Colour:
Select your horses colour from the drop down list.
Height:
Select your horses height from the drop down list.
Horse Notes:
You may add information here on what you know about your horse and any
other relevant information.
Horse Status:
The HorseTrace Database has listings for Tracing, For sale, For Loan or
Lease or Stolen horse... Please select which status you would like to
add to your horse on our database.
Price:
Please only complete this field if your horse is for sale or you would
like to add a price for leasing.
7. When you have added your information then click Submit.
8. Once your listing is added it then goes to HorseTrace for review before
your listing is added. You may add photos by editing your listing by clicking
the "Edit My Listing" and then clicking "Modify"
You shall be presented with a link on the top left hand where it says
"Images"
How To add photos
Adding photos is very simple, however there are limits to how large your
photos can be submitted to our database. Please make sure that your photos
are less then 700 pixels wide and under 1 meg in data size. Uploading
images that exceed these amounts shall be rejected.
To upload your images you must log
in and then click "Edit My Listing" and then
clicking "Modify" You shall be presented with a link
on the top left hand where it says "Images"
When you are at the images console please click the BROWSE button
and select your photo and then click "upload picture"
Please allow a few minutes for the photo to upload.
Once your photo has uploaded you may add a caption for your horses photo.
You may even upload more than one photo.
Please remember.. Your listing will not go live until it has been reviewed
and your subscription has been received.

FAQ
Q: What does rank mean when I upload a picture?
A: If you are uploading more than one picture,
you can order the which picture goes to the top of the list simply by
adding a numbers. 1 will be number 1, 2 will be number 2 and so on.
Q: When I try adding a listing it says Price at the bottom of the
listing form... I am not selling my horse.. what is this for?
A: If you are only placing a search then you
may leave this field blank. The price field is only used for horses for
sale.
Q: I have added my lisiting and subscribed but
I cannot see my listing... can you tell me what I am doing wrong?
A: When you add a new listing it has to be reviewed by the HorseTrace
staff. All listings if approved are authorised and listed within 24 hours.
Q: What happens if my listing is not approved?
A: If your listing is not approved it is because
there may be missing information and needs completing before it can go
live on our website. A member of staff shall inform you of any changes.
However 99% of listings are approved without this happening.
